Kate took Producing Live Sketch Comedy: Directing in Spring 2020. In past years, the directing students have been able to try their hand channel switching during an SNL style show. That was not possible with the COVID-19 pandemic. In March after learning the practical skills, the show had to go on. Kate and her classmates still produced the show on Youtube by streaming Zoom and live-channel switching.
Every year, Columbia College Chicago TV students put together an SNL-style live show that is usually in front of a live audience. With COVID-19, that wasn’t possible, so the students put together a zoom-equivalent that was still directed live with zoom channel switching.
